A veneer is a thin, custom-made layer of dental porcelain bonded to the front of a tooth. Veneers may be considered for selected concerns involving colour, shape, surface, wear or small spaces.
Treatment is irreversible when tooth preparation is required, so planning is especially important. Janina will assess the health of your teeth and gums, your bite and whether a more conservative option—such as whitening, orthodontics or composite bonding—could meet your goals.

Do veneers require tooth preparation?
Many porcelain veneers require removal of a small amount of enamel, although the amount varies. This makes treatment irreversible. Your dentist will explain what your teeth would require.
How long can porcelain veneers last?
Veneers can provide many years of service, but no restoration lasts forever. Their lifespan depends on the tooth, bite, habits, hygiene and maintenance, and they may eventually need repair or replacement.
Is the procedure painful?
Local anaesthetic can be used during preparation to keep you comfortable. Temporary sensitivity can occur, and your dentist will discuss what to expect and how it can be managed.
Can veneers whiten every tooth?
Veneers cover only the treated surfaces. If surrounding natural teeth also need brightening, whitening may be planned beforehand so the final shade can be coordinated.
